Have you always heard the day after Thanksgiving is the busiest retail shopping day of the year in the US? That’s what I’ve always heard but I’m not so sure anymore. The Friday after Thanksgiving is also known as “Black Friday” and kicks off the Christmas holiday shopping season.
According to Wikipedia (and several other sources), Black Friday is not always the busiest retail shopping day of the year as is widely reported in the media. It’s generally in the top 10 busiest shopping days and did reach #1 in 2003 & 2005. The busiest shopping day is usually the Saturday before Christmas. More proof that you shouldn’t blindly accept as fact everything the media reports.
The tradition in America is for stores to open as early as 5 AM and offer great deals that often result in huge crowds gathering hours before the doors open. There are only limited quantities of the most heavily discounted & popular items and when the doors finally open, there’s a mad rush to grab the sale items.
Can Black Friday be recreated online? Why not? I’m going to give it a shot and see what happens. If nothing else, I’ll learn something. In a previous post I mentioned that I made a bulk purchase of the Boca Conversations Software Bundle and if you’ve been reading this blog for the past few weeks you’ve seen the special offers I’ve been running. I’ve sold about half of what I bought and I’ve already made back my initial investment plus a profit so I’m already in the black. Every sale going forward is pure profit. That means I have nothing to lose by discounting the prices even more than I already have and you’ll have the opportunity to get some proven Internet business building tools & courses at very low prices.
Here’s the link to the Black Friday CyberSale. The order buttons are not live but you’ll see what’s available at discounts of 80% or more. The “doors open” (i.e. the order buttons go live) at 5:00 AM EST (GMT -5) on Friday, November 23, 2007. My blog announcement list gets a 6 hour head start. At around 11:00 AM EST (GMT -5), I’ll post a link to the sale on my blog unless everything is already sold out. You can get a 6 hour head start by putting your name and email address in the yellow box at the top of the sidebar on the right side of this page.
