I think it’s safe to say most people know that “kryptonite” is a glowing-green rock that has the ability to take away Superman’s power. From what I remember as a kid, Kryptonite was the only thing Superman couldn’t handle. When he was exposed to kryptonite, he was quickly reduced to a “mortal man”. No more leaping tall buildings in a single bound…no more bending steel with his bare hands and no more x-ray vision. That kryptonite was powerful!

Many people suffer from similar phenomenon. Their personal kryptonite comes in another form. Here are a few examples:

“I’m going to start a business…after I finish school.”
“I want to be rich but I’m not smart enough.”
“I can’t run a successful Internet business…I don’t have any experience.”

Sound familiar?

Many people who think like this will never be successful because, in their mind, there will always be an excuse for them not to take action. These excuses are powerful enough to paralyze their victims just like kryptonite does to Superman. It’s really blows my mind when I hear someone from planet Krypton complain about how unfair it is here on planet Earth. They’ll come up with every excuse in the book for not accomplishing (or even attempting) something worthwhile.

Don’t let excuses turn into your personal kryptonite and prevent you from achieving your goals. Just because you’re not faster than a speeding bullet or more powerful than a locomotive, doesn’t mean you can’t overcome the power of this “kryptonite” and accomplish your goals! And don’t look for a phone booth to change into your red cape…get going right now!
