It’s that time of year when all the losers are jotting down their list of New Year’s resolutions. Those who have the discipline to work out at a gym or fitness club year round loathe January as the month when all the fat people who’ve made the most common New Year’s resolution (losing weight) crowd the gyms. Fortunately 96% of them have given up by Super Bowl Sunday and things get back to normal.
Here are the top 3 reasons New Year’s Resolutions are for losers:
3. Follow the Losers
All the other losers are making New Year’s resolutions. Doing what everyone else is doing leads to the same pathetic results everyone else gets. Don’t play “follow the losers.” Successful people don’t follow the herd, losers do. If you want to be successful, look at what everyone else is doing and do the opposite.
2. Stop the Insanity
New Year’s resolutions represent a cycle of repeated failure. If you’re like most losers, you didn’t achieve last year’s New Year’s resolutions. Why would you think this year will be any different? History repeats itself. Losers who repeatedly make New Year’s resolutions and fail to achieve them will continue to do the same year after year and you know it. Doing the same thing over & over with the expectation of different results is one common definition of insanity.
1. One day of “clean living” won’t make a difference
New Year’s resolutions are a short-term solution to a long-term challenge and they’re about as helpful as one day of clean living. Will it do an alcoholic any good to stop drinking for one day? Will a smoker reduce the chances of lung cancer, birth defects, & emphysema by giving up the cancer sticks for one day? Of course not. So why would making goals for one day suddenly make you successful? It’s absurd.
New Year’s resolutions are nothing more than goals. Successful people put their goals in writing year round, not just on New Year’s Day. If you’re not going to make goals a part of your everyday life, there’s no point in making goals in late December every year. That’s what losers do.
Are you ready to make goals a part of your life? Or are you just another loser who makes New Year’s resolutions and forgets about them by mid-January. Success is centered around action, not words.

Right on Robert… I love it!!!
The thing I hate about new years resolutions is the fact that a plan is never written up about how they are going to achieve these goals
[Good point Thomas. Goals are a good start but won't do much good without a plan and taking action every day.]
