If you’ve been searching every corner of the globe looking for the secret to success look no further because I’m about to spill the beans, ready? Here it is: There is no secret to success. It’s a bunch of baloney. But people waste countless hours and spend billions of dollars every year looking for a “magic pill” that doesn’t exist.

Did you know two of the most heavily scrutinized and fined industries by the Federal Trade Commission are the diet market and the business opportunity market? What do they have in common? They purport to sell “secrets” and “magic pills” that don’t exist.

Look, if you want to lose weight I’ve got five words for you: eat less and exercise more. That’s all there is to it. It’s not a secret. Eating special meals prepared by Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers, substituting specially formulated milkshakes for meals, and popping “magic pills” ain’t the answer.

Sure you might see results quickly. But you’ve chosen a short-term solution to a long-term challenge and in the end it won’t work. We all know people who ride the roller coaster. They lose 20 pounds or more and within a year, they’ve gained it back.

Why? Because once they lost the weight, they went back to their old habits and got the same results they got before…excess weight.

If you truly want to control your weight, you’ve got to act with a “long-time perspective” like most successful people do. You need to change your attitude towards diet and exercise. You’ve got to implement a proven plan and have the discipline and focus to stick to it - every day, every week, every month, every year. Only then will your results be congruent with your goals.

So what’s all this got to do with success as it pertains to making money online? Plenty.

There are perhaps a million ways to make money online. The abundance of opportunities is staggering. Like me, your inbox may be flooded every day with offers on “How to Make Money Online”. Personally I read very few of these messages but I like being on everyone’s list for several reasons.

Back to all the abundant opportunities online. There’s creating and promoting your own digital products (information & software), affiliate marketing, selling links, online stores, eBay, pay per click, selling physical products, etc. The list goes on and on and new opportunites emerge daily. The opportunities are so abundant in fact that many people get lost in the paralysis of analysis looking for the “right” opportunity and never take action. Pathetic but true.
