I was at a friends house the other day and saw a book by Pete Rose called “Prison without Bars”. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know who Pete Rose is but he was a baseball player and actually has more hits than anyone who ever played baseball but while he was a manager, he was betting on baseball games, got caught, lied about it, and now decades later he finally told the truth. That’s why he called his book “Prison without Bars” because he felt like he was in a prison without bars…a prison of his own making.
Actually, Dan Kennedy used a similar phrase at the beginning the little red book he wrote. It’s called “The Ultimate Success Secret.” He talks about people who are in prisons of their own making although they have the choice to escape, for some reason they choose not to. Who knows why? But they don’t really want a job, yet they keep getting up and going to work every day like they have no choice.
You do have a choice. When you open your eyes and see all the possibilities it’s exciting. It doesn’t have to be on the Internet. There are plenty of ways to make money that have nothing to do with the Internet. Real Estate and the stock market for example. But the Internet is also a great place to make money once you learn how to do it.
The ultimate success secret in the book is to take action. Nothing will change until you take some action to make it change. And that’s why most people are in a prison of their own making. For some reason, the just won’t take action. Some are afraid, some are lazy, some are just dreamers who will never actually do anything. There are lots of reasons.
