Plans

I was at someone’s house the other day and they had the Tim Russert show on…sorry don’t know what it’s called but he’s a political reporter who has political figures on his show as guests. The guest on that show had written a book about Hillary Clinton and mentioned that a long time ago, the Clinton’s had put together a detailed plan with the goal of both Bill and Hillary serving as President for two terms.

Unfortunately, it has turned out to be a very good and well-executed plan…but this is not a blog about politics so no more political commentary from me. The point is that people who have plans, even ambitious plans like this one, generally succeed at a much higher rate than those who do not have a plan.

So maybe you have no desire to be the President. You can still set a big goal. Perhaps you like to create a million dollar business. Many others have done it and there’s no reason you can’t do it too. But you’re not likely to do it without a plan. There are several proven plans available right now. You just have to find the one that fits you and your goals most closely and start executing the plan.

The fact is that if you don’t have a plan, you’re likely to become part of someone else’s plan. And like Yogi Berra said, “If you don’t know where you’re going (i.e. have a plan), you might end up somewhere else.”
