MuVar is a great tool for improving conversions on your sales letters. Split testing is proven to improve conversion rates by testing two variables (i.e. Headline A vs Headline B) to see which one converts better. The problem with split-testing is that you can only test one variable at a time. MuVar is better because it does multivariate testing. That means you can test multiple variables simultaneously (Headline A vs Headline B, Guarantee A vs Guarantee B, font colors & sizes, etc.) The ability to test multiple variables at the same time increases conversions (i.e. sale) faster than split-testing one variable at a time.
MuVar is being updated and here’s my wish list:
1) Default Template
If I’m going to be testing the paper sales letter vs a black background, and blue headlines vs black headlines, etc. every time I install MuVar. It would be nice to be able to set up a default template for each install. That way I don’t have to type in the same exact things (like Paper-b, Paper-a, Headline Format-1b, Headline Format-1a, Headline Format-2b, Headline Format-2a, etc.) EVERY time I install Muvar. All I would have to input is the Headlines to test, the Sales Copy to test, and a few other things. The ability to set up a default template would save time.
2) Show the Versions
When I run a batch, I can see how different versions of different variables have performed but I don’t remember what all the versions are and even if I do I don’t remember which version is the red headline vs the black headline vs the blue headline or the size of the headline if I’m testing different font sizes. It would be nice to show what’s actually being tested instead of just the version #s.
3) An Overall Visitor Value
When I run a batch, I see a visitor value for each version of each variable. That’s helpful but I would like to know the overall visitor value. I suppose I could calculate this myself but it would be nice if MuVar just did it for me and showed me a number. Maybe even a history of overall visitor value so I can see how much it’s gone up in the past week or month.
4) The current “Champion” Sales Letter
Some people are visual learners and I happen to be one of them. I remember things I see - particularly pictures - more than anything I hear. Sure I can see which versions of which variables are performing best but I would like to click a button and have MuVar combine all the best performing versions of all the variables into the current “champion” sales letter and show it in a new window. Maybe it sounds crazy but now going forward I will “see” this picture of the sales letter in my head (I won’t hear voices though). A picture is worth dozens of variables and much easier than trying to visualize Headline Format 1(was that the black font or the blue font?, the size 20 font or the size 30 font?), Testimonial Format 2 (was that the green box or the yellow box?), etc.
