Sometimes I’m the last to know so this might be common knowledge but it was news to me so I’ll pass it on. Did you know Microsoft Word comes with free voice recognition software? So I suppose if you don’t already have MS Word, it’s not free but most people already have Word installed.
Under the “Tools” menu, select “Speech” and the software will be installed. You can get started immediately or you can “train” the software to recognize your voice and speech patterns so the translation will be better.
This might be perfect for someone who’s not a good typer (typist?). All you have to do is speak into the microphone and the words magically appear in the MS Word document. You can use this to write articles, blog posts, sales letters, or anything else you write.
In my limited experience, it’s not 100% accurate but probably about 90% so at least I have to do a little editing to clean it up. But it’s nice to have the option to speak instead of typing.
